The whole of our life is a mere “Maya” or “Illusion”. Once this veil of illusion has been uncovered, we see the inner light and only then do we understand the ultimate truth that unfolds into colour, light , peace, wisdom, energy and timeless bliss. To get a rare glimpse of truth we need to take an extraordinary voyage into the subtle realms of “CHAKRAS”. Chakras are the vortex of energy, the wheels of life or knowing the inner-self and mastering the mind and body to unite with the supreme consciousness. Our human system is the most immaculate design any engineer or architect could ever execute. The average human body has some 72,000 nadis and the point where two or more nadis meet, forms a chakra. There are some several hundred chakras inside our system but the seven major chakras running across the whole spinal column till the crown of the head, form the basis of our existence and help create a symphony between the physical and spiritual energy.

Beginning with the first or the base chakra (Muladhara), the life energy (Prana) travels upwards to the Crown chakra (Sahasrara) uniting the humans with divine. Each chakra has a deity, a symbol, a mool mantra (sound), colour and an element attached to it. Each Chakra is also linked to particular characteristics and a part of the body. When energy is blocked or unbalanced in the body it affects all areas of life. By working on the Chakras, we can promote good health and balance and seek enlightenment. The seven chakras have their own unique attributes and characteristics as given below.

• Muladhara meaning root or foundation. It is the first Chakra conveying that the earth supports me as I love and nourish my body. Its element is earth and colour red.
• Svadhisthana meaning ones own abode. It is the second chakra conveying that I gracefully flow with the ever unfolding changes of life. Its element is water and colour is orange.
• Manipura meaning the jewel of the navel. It is the third chakra conveying that I radiate vitality and light. Its element is fire and colour yellow.
• Anahata meaning unstruck sound. It is the fourth chakra conveying that I give and receive infinite supply of love. Its element is air and colour green.
• Vishuddha meaning to purify. It is the fifth chakra conveying that I express my true self with clarity and courage. Its element is ether and colour blue.
• Ajna meaning to know or to command. It is the sixth chakra conveying that I am guided by the light of spirit within. Its colour is indigo.
• Sahasrara meaning a thousand folds. It is the seventh chakra conveying that I am one with the divine. Its colours are violet and white.
